Solstice 40 follows the adventures of a young man born in Italy into an anti-fascist family. After having fled his native land and found love in France, he will be swept up in the whirlwinds of World War II, despite himself, and confront the limits of humanity.
Inspired by stories transmitted by the last memories of our collective memory, the book is built from hundreds of real characters who may have crossed paths, and whose testimonies form the basis of this novel.
The rise of extremism, the disaster of June 1940, prisoners of war in Austria and the disenchantment of the German-speaking populations are among the themes addressed.
